Follow the White Rabbit
We like festivals, we like new music, we like original ideas, and people doing it for themselves. Also we like things that are free!

Well what do you know, the funkily titled "Rave 'n' Rabbit" has all of that, and possibly more.

Loosely translated they describe the event as follows: "We will transport the night in an fun journey that will increase in emotion until it explodes in ecstasy, and ends melodically to carry us on pleasant dreams and company". Ok, so maybe I translated that bad, but to me it's clear that this event is about good times, good music, and good company. Can't say fairer than that.

The party takes place over two days in Cheste, with space for camping over night (if you wimp out and choose to sleep :P). The party comes in three stages, pre20:00 :: @23:30 :: pos08:00 with two music areas, Rock and Rave.

Drinks and food apparently available on site, and best of all entry is FREE. All you have to do is follow the white rabbit. More information can be found here.

Spain's festival circuit seems to be growing year on year. We have the old faithfuls of Benicassim and Sonar, that are gaining notoriety on the international festival circuit. However there are still a good number of festivals that both boast great line-ups and big crowds, yet remain less well known to the day time festival goer.

What this means is that you can still find festivals here that satisfy the desire for great music, big atmospheres, and genuine up for it music fans. Not to suggest that you can't get this at some of the more well known events, but those of you into your festivals will understand how much more special the event is when you can consider it partly your own.

Well one event that has caught our attention recently, and that looks very much like it will tick all these boxes is Monegros. Set in the desert, you instantly think of Mad Max, and anarchic counter cultures. A perfect setting for a festival in my mind.

Not just boasting a great location, the line up is outstanding also, this years festival playing host to such top acts as: Orbital, Carl Cox, 2 Many DJs, Tiga, Richie Hawtin and josh Wink. Along side such established acts we also have a great selection of new skool DJs such as Brodinski and Crookers.

This looks a bit unmissable in our eyes, so be sure to check their Official Website for more information, but the basic details are as follows:

Sat July 18th
Location: Fraga/Spain (Between Zaragosa and Barcelona)
Price 65 €

Valencian club and fashion stalwarts 'A Little Beat' are throwing 'A Little Party'. It's free to get in, and goes on until 3.30am. The venue is the Pink Club in Pl. Dr. García Brustenga 8, Benimaclet.

This is not a venue I am familiar with if I am honest, and it's partyl because of that, that I am tempted to go. Plus obviously, it's free, it's likely to be good with 'ALBs' backing, and there will be some Dub-Step, something of a rarity in this wonderful city.

I say get yourself down there, and get a groove on.

Every June Valencia becomes the focal point of independant cinema fans from all over the worl. Cinema Jove is a festival celebrating the creative work of some of the most talented young film makers in the world.

There are two main catagories in the festival, new features premiering in Spain, and International Shorts. Other areas of cinema that are celebrated however include tributes to veteran filmmakers, and young 'cult movie' directors, plus many other exhibitions, and a chance for professionals and new films makers alike to meet.

The emphasis of the festival is definitely on quality, and this is what has made it one of the most respected film festivals in Spain.

Screenings are being held all over the city in Various venues, so many are on offer if is almost a bit bewildering. The following locations are where the selection of films will be airing:

Edificio Rialto: Sala Luis Garcia Berlanga
Edificio Rialto: Sala Rialto
Centro Cultural Bancaja
Instituto Francés de Valencia: Auditorium
Terraza del Instituto Francés
Institut Valencià d'Art Modern (IVAM)
UGC Ciné Cité: Sala 3
UGC Ciné Cité: Sala 4
UGC Ciné Cité: Sala 15
Sofá Club - Mercado de Fuencarral
Jardines de Viveros
Teatro Principal
Sala Lametro. Estación de Colón
FNAC
Oficina de prensa del Festival - Hotel inglés
A full and day by day agenda, plus more information about the festival in general can be found on their official site here: http://www.cinemajove.com

Now doesn't this look good. 48 hours of Music and Art, with amazing artists, and a reasonable price. We really don't know what more you could ask for. A bank holiday weekend to enjoy it on maybe? Oh go on then, add that to the mix too. Seriously.

Line up is pretty outstanding, with all bases covered, from Duffy to the Prodigy. Other highlights include Ladyhawke, Soulwax and Germany's Boys Noize.

Full line up can be found on the official web site. Valenciya will be there and expect to see a photo report, and maybe some videos for those that can't make it (Though there has to be a good reason to miss it).
